And you only get one shot
Life is one crazy, wild ride.
It’s full of twists and turns.
There will be pleasant surprises around some corners. Beautiful landscapes will take your breath away. The sun shining on your face will warm your heart.
But then a freak storm will appear on the road in front of you. Dry roads will transform into a slippery mess so suddenly that you’ll barely have time to react.
I remember driving around New Zealand and being told that the weather can change in an instant. Temperatures can drop drastically. Storms can roll in out of nowhere.
You’ve gotta be ready for it all.
And that means never getting too comfortable.
It struck me that these driving warnings were, in some ways, a metaphor for life itself.
Life is full of possibilities.
Anything can happen at any time.
The question is, have we gotten too comfortable to be ready for whatever’s coming next?
Can we adapt as needed as we travel the road of life?
We’re only going to live once.
If this life is an adventure, then I want to experience all of it.
I’m willing to sink down into the lowest valleys if it means that I also get to set foot on the tallest peaks.
