Your Dreams Don’t Have an Expiration Date

The only way you can lose is by not starting at all

Thousands of words written.

Hours logged working on my craft.

Submissions accepted into publications.

Feedback from my audience.

It’s all data—data that actually means something, and that I can use to keep going, and to improve my writing over time.

It’s only January 19th, and I’ve already produced 19 new stories this year.

It’s hard to believe.

So much can happen when we set our minds to it and just go for it.

We can accomplish so much more than we believe we’re capable of.

This kind of progress excites me, because it shows me the potential of committing to yourself and following through on your word.

It pays to make promises to yourself.

When it comes to my writing, it feels like I’ve already accomplished a lot more in this month alone than I have during entire other years.

And there’s no doubt that that’s a great feeling.

It’s something worth getting out of bed for.
