When People Say “I Have Absolutely No Interest in Travel,” My Mind Stops
I’m sorry, what!?
To be fair, I’ve probably only heard a handful of people say this throughout my life, but each instance was memorable enough to leave a mark on my brain.
Each time I heard those words, my mind came to a screeching halt. Everything in me was dying to know why, or how that was even possible. It was as if I was trying to determine whether I’d heard them correctly. I’m sorry, did you just say you have no interest in travel?
A few years ago, I was sitting at my computer, watching writer Jeff Goins talk about worldviews. He spoke about a worldview as a perspective — something you believe deeply about the world. He went on to say that if you want your worldview to matter, you have to believe it can change the world.
A few ideas started popping into my head at this point, but what he said next struck a chord:
“A worldview is often something you don’t understand why other people wouldn’t want to do.”
At that point, the thought “Everyone should travel” solidified itself in my mind.
