This New Year’s, Try Something Different
It’s a revolutionary approach
The start of another year has often brought mixed feelings for me.
As much as I’m excited about the possibilities it brings, I’ve come to dread what it means: that I have to completely overhaul my life.
Everything. Must. Change. Starting. January. 1st.
This weird phenomenon always happens to me the last week of each year. I start to approach my life as if it’s the biggest blowout sale around. ‘Everything MUST go!’
I end up totally overthinking it and making these elaborate plans for how I’m going to transform every aspect of my life this year.
It sounds great and exciting and like I’ll finally become the version of me that I’ve always wanted to be.
The only problem is, it’s completely insane. And unrealistic. And bad for me and my health.
It accomplishes exactly nothing.
Rather than helping me overhaul my life for the better, it makes me exhausted before the ball has even dropped at Times Square.
I start the new year off exasperated by my list of everything I need to do to live my best life and “be successful.”
