One of the downsides to being human is that we can make life really complicated without even trying.

We have minds that whip thoughts around fast enough to make us feel dizzy.

We have emotions that are complex and can catch us off guard, swiftly overpowering and ejecting us from the driver’s seat without our awareness.

We have these amazing bodies that run like well-oiled machines if given the right fuel and cared for properly.

It’s pretty amazing when you stop and consider it all. And that’s all happening in just one person! Now add to the mix all the other people in our lives, and things can get pretty messy.

We‘ve all fallen victim to the time warp

Something that seems simple, such as sitting down to write every day, can end up being far more difficult than we ever imagined.

One missed day easily becomes ten, and then a whole year has gone by without us putting another word down on the page. I’m no stranger to this pattern. I know how easy it is to lose track of time, or get swept up in other people’s problems and prioritize their…
