How Learning Your Love Language Will Improve Your Life and Your Relationships
What if relationships didn’t have to be so complicated?
A few years ago, I read a book that changed my outlook on relationships.
Though it’s a New York Times bestseller and has become a rather famous book around the world for many years, having set off a trail of other books on the topic, I’d never heard of it. The book was called The 5 Love Languages.
My friend had mentioned she was reading it and finding it really helpful, and I was intrigued.
I asked her what it was about. She explained that she and her husband were reading it together as a kind of marriage advice book about how to improve your relationship and have a relationship that lasts.
Even though I wasn’t in a relationship at the time, the way she described it—as a tool to learn more about yourself and those you love—pulled me in. I’m naturally drawn to anything that might give me the opportunity to learn and grow in some way.
Plus, who doesn’t want better relationships?
What I learned from this book
She offered to lend it to me, and I basically devoured it in a day.
