Being a Writer Is as Easy or as Difficult as You Make It
Stop overthinking, stop planning, and start doing
As wonderful as the brain is and with everything it makes possible in our daily lives, our own intelligence as a species sometimes gets in our way.
Our ability to think and reason and plan is beneficial at certain times and a crutch at others.
Many of us think so much that that’s all we ever do! We end up thinking and thinking and thinking instead of taking action.
Maybe you know someone like this. Or maybe you are the someone like this.
If you are, you’re certainly not alone. I’ve been in the same position countless times throughout my life. We all have something we want to do or try out, but we get so caught up in thinking about it (and trying to figure it all out in advance) that we never get around to actually starting it.
I’m a pro at making things more complicated than they need to be, especially when it comes to writing.
If you’re in the same boat, maybe we can help each other navigate through the murky swamp of overthinking and overplanning in order to reach the clear waters of production.
Let’s get rowing!
